I am very sure that photo#1 is an MP I knew and worked on my PBR in Cal Lo. His name was "quick draw Popovich" from the Mp Co. in Vung Tau. He had a habit of shooting first then asking questions.

Hubby was a "River Rat" from 68 to 72. Virgil Davis Jr. Part of the 458th Trans Co out of Fort Story. We just lost him to the effects of Agent Orange on 01/17/13. Have tons of pics, and all sorts of things he managed to bring back that belong in a museum. Would love to share the pics, have so many people that I cannot identify. Any ideas on the proper museum to contact for the memorabilia? Give me info on how to join, or where to send pics.

Does anyone from Qui Nhon '70/'71 remember the crazy little mascot dog that hung around the PBR dock. He was really wired. I believe his name was Binoctal.

Also:
Does anyone from Qui Nhon '71 remember the attack and subsequent fire Feb 15th at the International Shell Storage yard by LST beach?

He was born Aug. 11, 1947, in New York. An Army veteran of the Vietnam War, he was a retired investment manager and a resident of Las Vegas.

I am trying to track down info on the MP who died while assigned to Cat Lai late in 1969. There was an explosion on a night patrol that mortally wounded him.I'd appreciate any leads (name, home town, his MP unit number--anything at all.) We need to honor his dying as part of the 458th community. tjwons@me.com

Did anyone ever explore the cave on the island up river from Vung Ro Bay? It was a sheer rock tall narrowing water entrance, we thought charlie may have been storing stuff in it so we decided to take a look. No one wanted to get out of the boat and go into the entrance, but I just had to. Water was wadeable and rocky up to an entrance that turned left in to the cave. I was scared clueless to turn the corner and go in. So I put a bomb in first. Big shock, next thing tons of fruit bats pouring out ,shit flying all over, me face down in the water. The rest of the guys under the canvas on the PBR laughing their butts off. Sorry forgot my E-mail on first post. Just starting to get into remembering you guys and stuff. Became a Capt. in the 80's and owned Dive/Fishing/Diner/Booze cruise in Sarasota Fl called Sea Adventure. Now own www.thedomefleamarket.com

seems election ballots were counted twice at our last reunion, the 1st day and then at the meeting. I did notice a unsecured ballot box with blank ballots setting on one of the display tables the 1st day. I find the idea rather disgusting that the winners were known several days before the official count. I'm quite aware I'm a cranky old fart, but this kind of snafu make me wonder just where the hell this organization is headed. Well meaning and or harmless those involved in counting ballots before the meeting. should look in the mirror and ask themselves the question I'm asking. Are you a officer because you want to better the organization or for the bragging rights?
